About Orienteering
Orienteering is using a map and compass to traverse through rough terrain as fast as possible to checkpoints. Competitors are timed. It is a great combination of running off-trail, thinking, and being out in nature. Student athletes will have a program of physical conditioning; improve their balance, speed and agility; learn skills to efficiently navigate with a map through an orienteering course; support each other as a team; and learn good sportsmanship.

Practices: Practices are held after school and on weekends, lasting 1.5 to 2 hours.

Competition: The team competes in races hosted by the New England Orienteering Club and Cambridge Sports Union.

Cut Policy: There are no cuts unless the number of participants exceeds practical limits.
