Congratulations to the CRLS Science Team for a 9th place finish (out
of a total of 45 schools) in the Massachusetts State Science Olympiad
Competition on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Eighteen students participated
in 25 events in all areas of science. The team has been working hard to
prepare for this event since November under the excellent leadership of
captains Avery Guan and Amy Tung.
The team also owes a huge thanks to the Cambridge School Volunteers
and the sixteen volunteer mentors who met with teams of students weekly
to help them prepare for their events. These mentors shared their time,
resources and deep knowledge of specialized areas of science with our
hard-working students. Our team would not have been as successful
without this valuable partnership.
The full team is listed below, but the following events earned top ten finishes:
Astronomy - 7th place - Inez Khan, Shakib Pranta
Dynamic Planet - 8th place - Ellery Buntel, Shakib Pranta
Entomology - 7th place - Hajin Kim, Samantha Mai
