Favorite Class at CRLS
I like that in history, you get to learn about places other than America. Americans often don't learn as much about other countries than the rest of the world does, so I try to appreciate whenever that opportunity arises.
Favorite Teacher
Ms. Atwood is kind, open, and honest to all of her students. She also teaches in a unique way that prepares you for life beyond high school; students in her classes set personal goals and strive to achieve them, which encourages self-motivation. Additionally, Ms. Atwood can beat you at Mario Kart.
What are some of the out-of-school time (OST) programs that you participated in between grades 6 - 12?
None
How did being enrolled in any OST program(s) contribute to your success in and out of high school?
N/A
What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
I liked the social and political conversations that were and are still encouraged at CRLS. These conversations show that our school is willing to criticize itself and grow stronger.
What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
They should know that we have a vibrant arts program. If they want to participate in the arts, they should join, and if they aren't interested, they still should appreciate the arts!
Advice to Incoming Freshmen
Take on a lot of new opportunities freshman year, extracurricular or otherwise. Everything is worth trying once; if you don't like it, then you can drop it, and if you do like it, then you're set! Activities are a great way to meet new people and spend your time meaningfully.
