Extra Curricula
I am a co-captain of the girls’ varsity crew team. I also was a Co-President of Latin Club (a member of our triumvirate, just as Caesar, to be precise), and a member of Club 4.

Favorite Class at CRLS
History and comparative government. History is as enthralling to me as any story, and the fact that it’s true means there’s so much more to learn from it.

Favorite Teacher
Ms. Giacchino. I took classes with Ms. Giacchino from freshman year until senior year, and despite the endless challenge of Latin, she always made class enjoyable. I loved the camaraderie of AP Latin so much I came back as a TA senior year so I didn’t have to leave.

What are some of the out-of-school time (OST) programs that you participated in between grades 6 - 12?
None

How did being enrolled in any OST program(s) contribute to your success in and out of high school?
N/A

What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
At CRLS, students are able to choose their paths with more specificity than at other schools. Between honors and AP classes and the vast range of electives, I was able to challenge myself and take courses that truly interested me.

What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
Advocacy is key. Not every teacher can look out for your best interests, and not every teacher is a good fit. Being a student in such a large high school means that if something is going wrong, it is up to you to find the necessary help. There might be no one else to do it.

Advice to Incoming Freshmen
Learn how the zones work, and don’t be afraid to walk up to someone and ask where a class is. Sometimes they’re inside a stairwell, so we won’t judge you for being confused.
