Favorite subject at CRLS
Math (Statistics, Calc)
Why is it your favorite subject?
Math at CRLS has consistently been the funniest classes I have ever taken. There is something about having a melting pot of every single year (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior & Senior) and having them learn in the same classroom that consistently creates the funniest scenarios I’ve ever seen. Shoutout CRLS Math.
Favorite CRLS Staff Person
Mr. Whitfield, Mr McGlathery, Mr. Tubinis, Mr. Snyder, Dr. Wu
What makes that staff person so special?
Picking one would be nonsense, as all of these people have paved my path to success and made me a better man.
Mr. Whitfield is the funniest person I may have ever met in my life, because I can not meet myself of course. Walking into his fourth period everyday made me excited to be in school. If I woke up at 2:00PM, he knew I would be there at 2:30PM.
Mr. McGlathery is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my life, happy retirement, I will miss you.
Mr. Tubinis, my guidance counselor, had the ability to put up with me for four years of high school. It may sound like nothing but that is a tall task.
Mr. Snyder, the CRLS Rugby super fan, who is yet to watch "Perfect Blue," built the most warm and welcoming classroom in CRLS with all of his classes.
Finally, Dr. Wu, the man, the myth, the legend, although I have only taken one of his classes in four years, if you had to guess where I was at in the building, it would be Dr. Wu’s first floor IT class. Very super of this senior.
Extracurricular activities, clubs, school-related activities
CRLS Rugby, Black Student Union
What were some of the out-of-school time (O.S.T) programs that you participated in anytime between grades 6-12?
Breakthrough, Boston Irish Wolfhounds Youth Rugby, Haiti National Team Rugby, Eagle Impact Rugby Academy, NorthEast Rugby Academy, Coles-Preme (self-owned business), Music
How did being enrolled in any O.S.T. program(s) contribute to your success both in and out of high school?
OST Programs put me on the right path and allowed me to build better habits. Leading a team contributed to my successes on and off the field, Rugby got me into college, and my business lives on to this day. Coles-Preme and ColtraneTV on all platforms. Thank you.
What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
Everybody at CRLS from the staff, to the students, to the security and janitors. Everyone wants you to succeed and everyone will put you in positions to do it. They are also really nice, to me at least.
What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
It may look intimidating, a lot of people in a building, a lot of cultures, a lot of ideas, but it is fun. It is really fun.
What advice would you give incoming freshmen about CRLS?
Do everything. Do not be afraid to pick up that call, walk through that door, join that team, or enter that room. Opportunities are plentiful and everywhere, you just have to jump at them.
