Favorite subject at CRLS
Carpentry

Why is it your favorite subject?
I love working with my hands and I get to take on challenges sometimes. The teachers and classmates are great and make it a fun environment.

Favorite CRLS Staff Person
Mr. Horne, Mr. Carey, Ms. Reese, and Ms. Espinosa

What makes that staff person so special?

I enjoy school because of them and they see the best in me. They're very helpful and supportive with my decisions, and I know they will be there for me no matter what. They all made my high school experience an amazing time.

What were some of the out-of-school time (O.S.T) programs that you participated in anytime between grades 6-12?
Gately Youth Center, Work Force, and Moses Youth Center

How did being enrolled in any O.S.T. program(s) contribute to your success both in and out of high school?
The youth centers were great places to connect with other youths in my community and know about resources and events. Work Force helped me with having a growth mindset, communication, saving money, and understanding that connections can go a long way for your future.

What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
The amount of opportunities for everybody because anything that someone wants to pursue in, there are always people and resources that students can find and explore.

What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
Rindge School of Technical Arts!!! I think it’s very important that middle schoolers should have knowledge on this program so for their freshman year, they can take the exploratory course and have a feel of what they like or not. Then potentially take one of the classes for three years so they can have a career plan for after high school. Students should know that there are other paths they can take other than college.

What advice would you give incoming freshmen about CRLS?
Enjoy the four years while you can and have fun! Don’t take everything too seriously. Make sure to check out clubs and/or other school activities, you can make new friends in different grade levels too. Always check your aspen, email, and google classroom because there can be significant things that you need to know and keep an eye on.
