Favorite subject at CRLS
Foreign Language
Why is it your favorite subject?
I liked the aspect of picking up and learning something new everyday as well as being able to see my progress over time.
Favorite CRLS Staff Person
Ms. Nathan
What makes that staff person so special?
She's always helped me in every way she could, even in situations when she was busy or I just had some unimportant things I wanted to talk about. I remember the time I had made a grave error on my common application that no one in the school had seen before. She never got mad at me or impatient and she called the schools and made sure I could get everything straightened out. She truly treats her students as if they were her own kids and doesn't let you let yourself go academically as well as pushes you to see your potential.
Extracurricular activities, clubs, school-related activities
Rugby, Football, BSU, GSC
What were some of the out-of-school time (O.S.T) programs that you participated in anytime between grades 6-12?
Young People's Project, Gately, Moses, Green Cambridge
How did participating in any sports, arts, clubs and/or OST programs contribute to your success during your high school years?
I think playing sports really helped me come into my own. As a freshman, I felt at times I would be reluctant to steer conversations and lead group activities. Playing sports and being a part of a team, and as I came up seeing how my input, participation, and effort mattered and seeing how it pushed others to be better really unlocked the leader inside of me over the years.
What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
I loved the students and the faculty, everyone was so warm and kind but at the same time I learned so much from everyone.
What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
CRLS is an amazingly large ecosystem of clubs, sports, classes, and activities. If there's anything a kid wants to do they're sure to find it here or find other students with the same interests.
What advice would you give incoming freshmen about CRLS?
I would say always get ahead of the curb and never procrastinate, if you want a job, or scholarship etc. start looking a month earlier and sign up as soon as opportunities open, less stress for you and more likely to get chosen.
