It was an opportunity to be able to learn how to be a leader and make an impact on my community.

Sharon Lozada
What makes that staff person so special?
Ms. Lozada was with me all four years of my high school career and I knew her because of Amigos before, she was always my mentor. She taught me hard skills to advocate and how to make an impact on my community.

Hiking Club, Crew, Wrestling, Football, Track, and Lacrosse.
What were some of the out-of-school time (O.S.T) programs that you participated in anytime between grades 6-12?
CitySprouts, Community Art Center, Mayor's Youth, CAMbridge Program, Innovators 4 Purpose, Lemelson - MIT: Biogen in Action program, Lemelson-MIT’s Bridge to Invention and Inclusive Innovation program, MIT Museum Teen Council, Frisoli youth center, Russell Youth Center, Harvard SYEP, and Building Bridges Program Northeastern
How did participating in any sports, arts, clubs and/or OST programs contribute to your success during your high school years?
I met an abundance of different people who I made connections with which helped me thrive in my high school career.
What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
I liked the community that I was introduced to, I felt a big responsibility to give back the same support that was given to me.
What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
Our vast amount of resources we have to offer to students, such as the multimedia arts center, the pool, the gym, AVID, and especially the RSTA program.
What advice would you give incoming freshmen about CRLS?
Some advice I'll offer to freshmen is to be social. CRLS is a very welcoming environment that is open to many opportunities to be social, such as Club 4, Hiking Club, and STAR's.
