Superintendent Search
The Cambridge School Committee has launched a search for the next Superintendent of Schools to lead Cambridge Public Schools. The goal is to have a Superintendent of Schools in place on or before July 1, 2026. Learn more about the Superintendent Search process here.

158 Spring Street Building Update
The City of Cambridge has committed funds through its capital improvement budget to provide for investments in the 158 Spring Street building (formerly the Kennedy-Lonfellow School). These investments will allow the Cambridge Public Schools to retain the building for use as a school located in East Cambridge. Learn more about the project on our website here.

New to Annual Forms: Opt-In Now Required for Some Google Services
CPS uses Google Workspace for Education for classroom learning. Google Workspace offers Core Services like Gmail, Drive, Docs, Slides, and Classroom, with age-appropriate settings. Google also offers Additional Services that can enrich learning, such as Google Maps, Earth, and YouTube.

Starting this school year (2025-2026), Google will require Parents/Guardians to give permission each year for students under 18 to use these Additional Services on their own by signing a consent form that will be available in the Annual Forms each year, beginning this August.

  • Students who don’t have Parent/Guardian permission will still be able to access learning materials related to whole-class learning as provided by CPS educators through Google Classroom, Slides, and other Core Service applications, but won’t be able to browse or search additional services applications such as YouTube on their own.

“Additional Services” for all grades are outlined below:

Preschool - Grade 5 Grade 6-8   Grade 9-12
Students are not allowed to use these Additional Services on their own.  Google Earth
