The Hour of Code is coming to CRLS!

What’s the Hour of Code?
The Hour of Code is a grassroots campaign for students of all ages to get exposure to computer programming, during December 4-8, in celebration of Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek). The week was chosen in honor of Admiral Grace Hopper, a pioneer of programming, who was born on December 9, 1906.

Is the Hour of Code one specific hour?

No. You can do the Hour of Code anytime during Computer Science Education Week, the following week, or anytime during the year!

Why do students need to know Computer Science?
Every student should have the opportunity to learn computer science. It helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic, and creativity. There are so many technology-related jobs that don't yet exist that our students will take on in the future. By starting early, students will have a foundation for success in any 21st-century career path. Currently, there are more computer science jobs in the US than there are qualified students. Check out other staggering computer science statistics here.
