Please congratulate our 28 Cambridge Rindge and Latin students who won 65 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards this year in Massachusetts - 16 Gold Keys, 13 Silver Keys, and 36 Honorable Mentions. The Gold Key winners’ artwork is currently being judged in New York for National Awards. The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the nation’s longest running, most prestigious award and recognition program for creative teens. Students in grades 7 - 12 can apply in 28 categories of Art and Writing. Submissions are juried by luminaries in the visual and literary arts. National Medalists are eligible for scholarships of up to $10,000. The mission is to identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent and present their remarkable work to the world through the Awards. In 2021, students across America entered nearly 230,000 original works of art and writing. The Awards turn 100 in 2023. Some alumni of the awards include Andy Warhol, David Salle, Cy Twombly, Ezra Jack Keats, Ken Burns, Steven King, Sylvia Plath, John Updike, Amanda Gorman, Red Grooms and many more.
