CRLS FIRST Robotics Team is Ready to Compete
Posted on 03/19/2015
After six arduous weeks of designing, building, and programming, the CRLS/RSTA FIRST Robotics Team 97, Bionic Beef, is finally in its competition season. The FIRST Competition Season is divided into District Events, Regionals, and, finally, Nationals. Each team competes in two District Events, and Bionic Beef has already completed their first District Event held at UMASS Dartmouth, where the team proudly came in as 2nd Place Finalists, a huge accomplishment for the team and great recognition for all the hard work each team member has put into the robot.

This year’s challenge, called Recycle Rush, involves stacking recycling crates and bins on designated scoring platforms. Teams this year had to design robots that can lift these items and be able to move with them and stack them. The highest stacks are six crates with a bin on top.

Come witness Bionic Beef compete in these exciting matches and, hopefully, make it into the finals once again at their next event! Their next event will be held at Matthews Arena at Northeastern University March 27-28. The event will be held all day both days and is a great place to learn more about robotics and have lots of fun. More logistics on the event can be found by clicking here.
