Fiscal Year 2027
As of October 2025, the Cambridge Public Schools is actively planning for the new fiscal year, FY 2027. Our fiscal year begins on July 1, however our budget process begins much earlier. Because the School Committee and then the City Council are required to vote on our annual proposed budget, we follow a longer timeline that usually begins in the fall. Our budget process is inclusive and transparent, and includes many meetings with the Cambridge community and with staff. Typically, the process ends in early April with a vote by the School Committee, followed by a formal vote by the City Council.
