The Baldwin School embraces clear core values, inspiring students to develop a growth mindset as lifelong learners. We help students be resilient, take responsible risks, value difference and consider the needs of individuals and the larger community.
Daily class meeting using the Responsive Classroom approach encourage students to build relationships and community, learn social skills and work together to solve problems. Older students lead All School Meetings, where we celebrate the core values and students share what they have learned.
We have high expectations for students academically and we use frequent assessment to provide instruction and support to meet the wide range of needs.
At Baldwin, we work to enrich learning with real-world experiences and applications. Special activities and field trips help the curriculum come to life. We encourage and support student-led and student-driven ideas.
Trips designed to get students outside and to explore and learn about the world are woven into the day and school year. Past trips have included overnight trips for our 2nd-5th graders, walking trips around Cambridge, and trips to local museums.
