Favorite Class at CRLS
Engineering is my favorite subject because it helped me open my mind to how broad this field actually is. I came into CRLS thinking that all that engineers do is solve difficult equations in an isolated room. I was afraid of that being my future but taking this class helped me realize how much more it has to offer. I would like to thank Mr. Roldan for encouraging me to take Engineering when I wasn't sure about it.

Favorite Teacher
My favorite CRLS staff person is Mr. Dagher because he always made class entertaining and interesting. I was always excited for his class periods and was never stressed out. He made class fun but also very effective because he brings teaching and humor together to get the student engaged in his class. I truly feel sorry for anyone who never got to take any of his classes.

Mr. Gupta is also one of my favorite teachers at CRLS because of his belief in me during Honors and AP Chemistry. I wasn't so sure about my abilities in one of the hardest classes in the school but his confidence in me kept me working to get better and understand the difficult topics in the class.

What are some of the out-of-school time (OST) programs that you participated in between grades 6 - 12?
Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program

How did being enrolled in any OST program(s) contribute to your success in and out of high school?
Being involved in the MSYEP has helped me develop life skills which I couldn't by myself. Having different jobs has helped me express myself through art, help the community through organizing outreach events and taught me a lot about the importance of native plants. It has also helped me understand the importance of communication and collaboration.

What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
The thing I like most about CRLS is the amount of opportunity there is. There are classes that are offered here which I could have never even thought about. CRLS students have the opportunity find their passion through the many different electives offered. There are also so many resources available to all the students. I regret not taking use of those resources before.

What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
One thing people might be unfamiliar with CRLS but should know about the school is that they turned all the vape rooms into bathrooms.

But jokes aside, people should know the first two digits of the room numbers are the floor numbers and the zone numbers, respectively. Zones 1 to 5 are in the Rindge Building and Zone 6 is in the Arts Building. So for example, room 3669 is in the third floor of the Arts Building.

Advice to Incoming Freshmen
One advice I would give is that time in high school runs out QUICK. Also, don't procrastinate!
