There are not many who have done it better. Kylee Bernard, leaves a legacy in the history of Cambridge Athletics. A storied history of student athletes, including one of the NBA’s 50 greatest players of all time, several NCAA Champions, Olympians, etc. Kylee has edged out her place in that history and is ranked 2nd among the most decorated Cambridge Student Athletes of all time!
CRLS Head Coach, Jamalh Prince was emphatic on the presence and impact Kylee has made on her time here in Cambridge.
“Kylee is not only a top athlete, she is one of the best people that Cambridge has ever produced. She is caring, empathetic and selfless. She will do anything if asked, regardless of the situation, especially if it supports someone else. Although she is leaving us, we know her impact on Boston College and their entire community will greatly benefit from her presence. I wish her the best of luck and we look forward to following her progress and future successes.”
Kylee has been a part of the Track and Field Program, running seven seasons (missed one during Covid), to actually say that being a part of is an understatement. From her very first season of competition Kylee has led the Track and Field Programs through her sheer commitment and dedication to compete, improve and dominate. Over her time at CRLS, she has garnered an athletic resume with a plethora of accolades. Director of Athletics, Tom Arria sums up the impact Kylee has made.
“Kylee is a special individual. She quietly went about her work each day, in school and then at practice. She was fiercely committed to being better everyday. Her work ethic, perseverance, and determination both in the classroom and on the track are truly inspiring. She is a true competitor and CRLS, the track team, our school and community have been so fortunate to have her as a leader.”
So exactly what did Kylee achieve beyond her cumulative grade point average of over a 97? Her medal count includes 4 Dual County League Championships; 7 Division 1 State Titles, 4 All State (Meet of Champions) Titles; and was named a 3 time Boston Herald All Scholastic and 3 time Boston Globe All Scholastic. She also holds 5 Track and Field records between Indoor and Outdoor Events; all earning her the CRLS Student Athlete of the Year Award this past week!
Kylee will continue to compete in the Division 1 Atlantic Coast Conference as she has received an athletics scholarship to attend Boston College.
