CRLS One School, One Story Summer Reading Program
The CRLS summer reading program, One School, One Story, is a student-driven, year-long program designed to build community through a shared reading experience and foster a love of reading. Every rising 9th - 12th grade student, teacher, and staff member will be given a (free) copy of this year’s chosen book to read over the summer break. When we return to school in the fall, the school community will come together to participate in conversations and engaging activities related to the book and its themes.
We are excited to announce that the book chosen by our students is The Faint of Heart by Kerilynn Wilson. Part speculative fiction and part cautionary tale, this graphic novel explores big questions: What would you do if you were the only person left with a heart? The only person left who felt anything at all? Would you give in to the pressure to conform? Or would you protect your heart at all costs? The Faint of Heart is a moving and ethereal debut that questions morality and the feelings that seem too big to contain.
