Favorite subject at CRLS
Computer Science

Why is it your favorite subject?
All of the CS classes I took gave me a great opportunity to learn as well as time to work on programming projects that I was interested in. The teachers are great and the opportunity to code at school helped me develop problem solving skills.

Favorite CRLS Staff Person
Dr. Wu

What makes that staff person so special?

Dr. Wu has been incredibly supportive throughout my time in high school, from an engaging APCSP class freshman year to writing several recommendation letters and supervising my senior thesis this year. He is very good at what he does and is always there to support students and run cool classes.

Extracurricular activities, clubs, school-related activities
Crew team, math club, one season each of winter track and wrestling

What were some of the out-of-school time (O.S.T) programs that you participated in anytime between grades 6-12?
I didn't participate in any of these.

How did being enrolled in any O.S.T. program(s) contribute to your success both in and out of high school?
N/A

What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
I really like the size of CRLS and the wealth of opportunities that came with it. I appreciated the two-semester, four-block system and the flexibility to work with your guidance counselor to structure your schedule. I also really enjoyed school sports, mainly crew, and the community that it provided during and outside of practice time.

What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
Lots of teams, lots of clubs, lots of classes. Great opportunities to do whatever you're interested in.

What advice would you give incoming freshmen about CRLS?
You can take classes at Harvard/MIT. This is a great opportunity to go beyond what CRLS has to offer in a particular field, and really explore your interests. Additionally, you can do research, which is good experience for college/real life, and there are several classes that give you high school credit for it. Don't let anything hold you back.
