CRLS Facilities

Over the last several years, the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School has emerged as a state-of-the art educational facility where students can access the very best of what Cambridge has to offer.

Most notably in September 2010, Cambridge Rindge and Latin School unveiled the completed first phase of a $112 million major renovation that began with a beautiful new Arts Building, a fitting home to our nationally-recognized theater arts program.

As the Summer of 2011 comes to a close, final renovations are completely transforming CRLS’s remaining library and instructional space. Supported by a major technology collaboration with Harvard University and contributions from Raytheon BBN Technologies and Cisco, CRLS will offer students access to leading-edge technology in every classroom. Our outdated cafeteria will be replaced with a food court offering inexpensive, teen-friendly meals including a wrap station and salad bar.

Arts BuildingWhen the project is completed in September 2011, Cambridge public high school students will study and learn in a technologically advanced and state of the art facility designed to achieve a LEED silver designation.

Students also benefit from the lasting quality of a 2001 renovation of the Rindge School of Technical Arts space, and 2008 renovation of our swimming and athletic facilities at the War Memorial Building. Right next door, students will be able to unwind after school inside the Cambridge Public Library teen center, or browse the city’s extensive collection inside a building that the Boston Society of Architects recently named the the “Single Most
Beautiful Building” built in metropolitan Boston area in the past 10 years.

Together, the CRLS campus will provide a rich and stimulating environment in which students will have the tools they need to discover their voice and unlock their full potential.
