Favorite Class at CRLS
History. Even though history is the study of the past, I find that it is one of the more relevant subjects. I think that it is amazing how we can look at almost any contemporary affair and see it mirrored in the past. Studying history is imperative to understanding the world today and discovering how to move forwards in a society that is rapidly evolving and changing.

Favorite Teacher
Monica Murray, Brett Cramp, and Edward Flaherty. Mr. Cramp and Mrs. Murray both form the lifeblood of the CRLS Theatre department. Having been lucky enough to have had both of them as teachers multiple times over the past four years, I have learned so much and have been given so many wonderful opportunities to be a part of theatre at CRLS.

Mrs. Murray (Monica) taught me the importance of kindness and giving back. Under her guidance, I learned the value of expressing gratitude and pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone.

Mr. Cramp pushed me to discover my own creativity and taste for the performing arts and take risks in the theatre world. As a person, he radiates warmth and is incredibly compassionate.

Mr. Flaherty was one of the most influential teachers that I had during my time at CRLS. I remember being quite terrified of him when I first started his class, as he is very tall and has a large presence and I am the opposite (and was especially so as a freshman). However, Mr. Flaherty's contagious enthusiasm for history and dedication to teaching high school students how to be successful greatly impacted my development as a critical thinker and a learner in general.

What are some of the out-of-school time (OST) programs that you participated in between grades 6 - 12?

What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
CRLS teachers make their classes interesting. I have had a lot of great experiences getting to learn traditionally and also be more creative with my work. It's evident that the teachers at CRLS are passionate about what they teach, which I believe is an important quality in a teacher.

What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
There is a lot of dedication and passion within the student body at CRLS. There are always student organized events going on, and no matter what club or class you pop into, you will see students working hard to show the community why what they love is important and interesting.
