Favorite Class at CRLS
Early Education and Care (EEC). This class is really preparing me for my future career. I am learning a lot about how children develop, their behaviors, and their ages and stages. We also studied the brain development of children and quite a bit of psychology, which will help me when I study pediatric medicine. This class has helped me know the exact career path I want to follow.
Favorite Teacher
Ms. Gentry. Ms. Gentry has been a big support this year. She made sure I knew which schools I wanted to apply to and gave me good advice on college from her own experiences. She checks up on me from time to time to see where I was at in terms of the college process. She is the only teacher I feel comfortable enough to explain my struggles, whether they are academic or personal struggles. She is the best teacher I've ever had!
What are some of the out-of-school time (OST) programs that you participated in between grades 6 - 12?
The Work Force Program and Enroot
How did being enrolled in any OST program(s) contribute to your success in and out of high school?
Both programs are the reason I am very successful in high school. Through them I have realized that hard work really pays off.
What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
The opportunities that CRLS provides to both students and parents is what I like the most about it.
What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
Early Education and Care is one of the RSTA classes not many people know of. This program gives you a peek of what it is like working with children. It also gives you an idea of what career you want to pursue, whether it is a teacher or a pediatrician.
Advice to Incoming Freshmen
People working at CRLS are very friendly and always eager to help out. Never be afraid to ask for help.
