Grade 11-12th Activities: March 26 - 27, 2019

Dear Families and Caregivers of CRLS 11th and 12th Grade Students,

On Tuesday, March 26th and Wednesday, March 27th, all 10th grade students will be taking the ELA MCAS exam. Because the exam has been consolidated from 3 days to 2 days and is being administered online for the first time we will need the majority of the school day for MCAS testing. To help maintain a quiet and organized testing experience for students and to make the day productive for non-testers. Students in grades 9, 11, and 12 will have an alternate schedule. Please see a detailed list of workshops created 11th and 12th graders to empower students to learn about career choices and post secondary education. We encourage students in grades 11 and 12 to take advantage of the activities. Students will be informed about these activities in their Community Meeting.

All 11th and 12th grade students have the option to do any of the following items:

  1. Participate in the Life After CRLS (Em)Powering Your Future program as detailed below.
  2. Individual college visits - call the college and set up a tour
  3. Volunteer work - students considering National Honor Society need to complete 40 hours of community service. Some opportunities can be found here: finditcambridge.org or teenlife.org
  4. Job shadow - students may ask family, friends or mentors
  5. CRLS is arranging a college tour to Tufts University on March 26th and another to Suffolk University on March 27th. Students should see their guidance counselor for more information and to get a field trip form
