Favorite Class at CRLS
History. I personally believe that history is the key to understanding the present and the blue print to building the future. The world is a product of its own history, and we need to understand that history so we can address the issues we are dealing with today.

Favorite Teacher
Ms. Chaney has been a huge support system for me throughout the past couple years. She has been a teacher I can always rely on to be there when I need her and has taught me to put value in myself and my work.

What are some of the out-of-school time (OST) programs that you participated in between grades 6 - 12?
Harvard School-To-Work Internship, Innovators for Purpose, Harvard Extension School, The Possible Project, Debate, Speech, and Drama

How did being enrolled in any OST program(s) contribute to your success in and out of high school?
I used to have a hard time speaking up or advocating for myself when I was younger but after participating in these programs I was able to practice public speaking and idea pitching, so over time I was able to gain more confidence and really break out of my shell.

What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
There are honestly an endless amount of opportunities at CRLS, there are so many things I had access to that I know I wouldn't have had elsewhere. I moved around a lot when I was younger and I have never been in a school that offers so many different courses and programs over a wide variety of interests.

What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
No matter who you are, there will always be a place for you somewhere in CRLS.

Advice to Incoming Freshmen
I overthought many situations during my time in high school which ended up preventing me from experiencing a lot of cool things. There are a lot of friendships I missed out on because I was too shy to reach out first, a lot of classes I could have enjoyed more if I simply asked more questions. Life is too short to overthink everything, so put your fear aside and speak your mind!
