Favorite subject at CRLS
Math

Why is it your favorite subject?
I really enjoy the problem solving aspect of math because it's always super satisfying to solve a difficult problem. I also met some really fun friends in my math classes!

Favorite CRLS Staff Person
Ms. Watson, Mr. Benson, Dr. Gupta, Mr. Powers, Dr. Wu, Ms. Giacchino, Mr. Cohen

What makes that staff person so special?

It's so hard to choose a favorite CRLS teacher because so many of them have had such a huge positive impact on my high school experience. I'd first like to shout out to Ms. Watson and Mr. Benson for fostering my love for math. They both created such a supportive learning environment and I learned so much from both of their classes. I also had so much fun in Dr. Gupta's AP Chemistry class because of his positive energy and the many labs we did in class; he made learning chemistry really fun and sparked my interest in chemistry. Thank you to Mr. Powers, who I had all four years of high school with, whether it be in Freshman Band, Period 5 Band, or working with me in my Senior Graduation Project. He was always incredibly supportive of my passion for music and helped me get involved in so many music opportunities through school. Big thank you to Dr. Wu as well, for creating a very chill class environment and helping me become one of Audible's High School Interns, which was one of the coolest CRLS opportunities I participated in. Thank you to Ms. Giacchino, who made my "this is the only class available" class into "Latin is actually really cool" into "I'm going to make my sister take her classes." Her teaching style was always very supportive and fun, and I learned so much in Latin about linguistics and classics. And last but most importantly, Mr. Cohen, who was the very first CRLS teacher I met when we were all virtual and on Zoom; he always supported my many interests, he made CM super fun and chill, and I felt like I could really go to him and talk about anything.

The friends I made at CRLS for sure! I felt like CRLS made it easy to meet new people and make new friends.

CRLS has so many amazing opportunities offered to its students. There's such a wide range of classes, clubs, and programs offered through the school that every student can undoubtedly find something to fit their own interests.
