Favorite subject at CRLS
AP Calculus

Why is it your favorite subject?
AP Calculus is my favorite subject because it has pushed me to develop skills that I hadn't had before. I have had to work to develop good studying skills to really understand the content of the class. I also enjoyed the challenge that the course had brought me.

Favorite CRLS Staff Person
Ms. Yvette Jackson

What makes that staff person so special?

Ms. Yvette Jackson has really made my high school experience the best it could have possibly been. She has always been someone I could count on and pushed me to do my best with everything I did. Yvette gave me a great school environment and made me feel like I was her own, she became my second mom. I couldn't have asked for anyone better to be by my side throughout these 4 years.

What did you like most about CRLS? Why?
What I liked most about CRLS was the diversity and freedom to express yourself. I came from a charter school where a majority of students shared the culture. When I got to CRLS there were so many different types of people. Different ethic backgrounds, religions and cultures. Each person has always had the opportunity to express their backgrounds without ever feeling limited.

What is something people unfamiliar with CRLS should know about the school? Why?
CRLS is filled with many opportunities, you just have to willing to put in the work to get the best experience. There are a variety of classes, scholarships and clubs. There are so many people who really want you to succeed in life. They want you to use them as a guide to help build the bridges and connections you need.

What advice would you give incoming freshmen about CRLS?
To any incoming freshman please know that every class matters, give each class your best shot and you are on the right path. Build bonds with the people around you teachers and peers, these are people who can help you for a lifetime.
