The Recently Mayor David Maher presented awards to the 2015 Cambridge Food Heroes at a reception at Cambridge City Hall. We are honored that our own CPS Food Services Director, Mellissa Honeywood, was a recipient! She has done an excellent job to incorporate sustainability into her nutritious and delicious food plans.
Awards were made in celebration of the nationwide celebration of Food Day and honored individuals and institutions that help provide a lasting and significant influence on a fair, healthy and sustainable food culture in Cambridge.
The other 2015 Cambridge Food Heroes included: Sasha Purpura, executive director, Food For Free; Crista Martin, Harvard University Dining Services director for strategic initiatives and communications; Julian Agyeman, professor of urban and environmental policy and planning at Tufts University; Nicola A. Williams, president, The Williams Agency; the Rev. Brenda A. Brown, executive director; and Bishop Beautrice Munroe-Scott, director of operations, Project Manna; and Ada Navarro, CEOC Food Pantry.
